LEGO Toys For Rent – Save Money!

Having trouble cleaning your kid’s LEGO toy room?

If you purchase your own LEGO toys, your kids can play with them forever. Unfortunately, the reality is, they will eventually turn into something like this:

LEGO toy containers to the rescue?

LEGO toy containers seem like an easy solution, but they can be quite expensive AND you still don’t solve the problem of all that time spent cleaning and organizing. And my guess is those LEGO toys will eventually find its home on the floor again rather than the toy containers you spent good money on!

Why not rent LEGO toys, save money, and spend less time cleaning?

Brick PlayStudio offers a LEGO rental service so you don’t have to worry about the LEGO toys overtaking your room ever again. The best part is, you save tons of money AND your kids spend more time building a variety of LEGO toy sets rather than cleaning. Say bye to those messy pile of LEGO bricks!

This all sounds good in theory, but can you really save money and is it worth it? Let’s compare an actual purchase versus a rental.

I’m going to use the LEGO Police Station Set #60047 in this example. When this set was released, it’s original retail price was around $145 NZD. This set is now discontinued, and if you check various websites, its value has actually gone up from the original retail price. As for a used set, you can buy an incomplete version of this set for around $100 NZD and a used set in good condition with all pieces included will still fetch close to the original retail price. So let’s say you find a REALLY GOOD deal and manage to buy a used set in excellent condition with all the pieces for $110 NZD. For this amount, you could rent the following sets from our site:

Four LEGO rentals for the purchase price of one set with $14 to spare – enough to cover the shipping and return cost + a cup of coffee! 🙂

Now you might be saying this isn’t a fair comparison because you only get to rent for 10 days. Well, you don’t have to rent all the LEGO toys at once. Let’s assume you divide it into four separate rentals which would mean 40 days for your kid to enjoy the sets. Now you can ask yourself if buying one LEGO toy set to keep forever is better than four LEGO toy sets to play with over 40 days. And if you buy two sets, the comparison becomes 8 sets over 80 days. Every kid is different, but if your kids are anything like mine, that newly purchased LEGO toy set will start collecting dust after just one week (maybe even less) and eventually become a part of that messy LEGO toy display on the floor.

If you’re still doubtful, I encourage you to try and find the buying price of some of the sets listed on our website and do your own price comparisons. And remember for rare, discontinued sets, you would have to look at the going market rate (rather than original retail price).

Happy renting!
